GENERAL STAFF FAQ:
When and where do I report for camp?
You are to report to the basement of Cord’s Arena at Frostburg State University in Frostburg Maryland (101 Braddock Road, Frostburg MD) @ 10 AM on the Sunday you are assigned to work.
Are there any meetings that I have to attend?
Yes, at 11:00 AM there is a mandatory staff orientation in the Leak Room located in Cordt’s Arena. This meeting is mandatory for all staff including veterans.
If I am working multiple weeks do I have to check- in each Sunday and attend the staff orientation?
Yes
If I am working multiple weeks is there somewhere that I can stay during the weekends?
Yes, if you are working back to back weekends you are permitted to stay in the dorms over the weekends as long as you arrange it with Terri or Joe beforehand.
Are meals included in your stipend for working camp?
Yes, Coach Wootten’s Basketball camp provides:
-Lunch and dinner on Sunday.
-Breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Thursday.
-Staff social room Sunday evening through Wednesday evening.
Does the camp provide transportation for staff members to and from camp?
Yes, our camp will provide transportation for any coach who will be flying in or out of BWI or Reagan National Airport.
Coaches who need to utilize the camp transportation must contact the staffing office to register for the bus.
All coaches arriving into BWI Airport must arrive before 10:00 AM on the Sunday that you are working camp. The bus will pick up campers and coaches at the US AIR Baggage Claimn @ 10:30 AM.
All coaches arriving into Reagan National Airport must arrive before 9:15 AM on the Sunday that you are working camp. The bus will up campers and coaches at the Delta Baggage Claim @ 9:45 AM.
All coaches departing BWI Airport must depart after 10:00 PM. The bus will drop coaches and campers off at the US Air Baggage Claim @ 8:30 PM.
All coaches departing Reagan National Airport must depart after 10:30 PM. The bus will drop coaches and campers off at the Delta Baggage Claim @ 9:00.
If I arrive before the Sunday before I work is there somewhere I can stay until the Sunday of camp?
Yes, for staff memebers who are driving in on Saturday night you can stay in the college dorms. You will need to pre-arrange this with Terri or Joe in the staffing office.
Is there transportation available from the airports to the camp before the Sunday of camp or on Friday or Saturday after camp?
No, the only camp supported transportation is the bus service that picks up and drops off on Sunday or Thursday.
What if you have had fingerprints and background checks done at your full time job, can you skip the camp fingerprint cards?
No, we are required to have you complete the cards through our organization.
What do I need to bring to camp?

COACHING FAQ
What are the requirements for coaching at Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camp?
To work camp you will need to submit an application. Once we receive your application we will issue you a contract and a personnel packet which includes:
Health History Form
State of Maryland Fingerprint Cards
FBI Fingerprint Cards
Once you receive and complete the personnel packet you will need to return it to our staffing office.
Once we receive your completed personnel packet will send you a confirmation letter.
Can I work camp and have my child attend?
Yes, you would just need to contact the camp staffing office and let them know that you would like to work for your child’s tuition?
If I work for my child’s tuition and have a 2nd child who wants to attend what is the 2nd child’s tuition?
Your second child would come for full tuition.
Can I room with my child if I am working the camp?
Yes, you would just need to contact Terri in the staffing office to set up the rooming arrangement.
How are coaches assigned to the different teams and groups?
In general, veteran coaches are assigned teams based where they were in past years. New coaches are then assigned to groups at the coach check-in on Sunday Morning.
Do I have to coach in my child’s league if I am working camp?
No, we can put you in a separate league or we can put you in your child’s league with a different team. It is really up to you. We can have you coach your child’s team as well if that is what you would like to do.
Can I be on my child’s floor but not in their room if I wanted to?
Yes, you would just need to contact the staffing office so that we can arrange the rooming.
If you can’t work as a coach at the camp are their other opportunities for adults to “attend” and experience camp?
We do offer the opportunity to be an observer. The fee is $250. This covers your room and board and the opportunity to participate in all sessions (including the ones for staff i.e. daily coaches roundtable) To sign up, contact Carol in our main office @ 301-805-4667 or camp@coachwootten.com.
ATHLETIC TRAINING FAQ
What is the required attire for camp?
We ask that you wear age appropriate and professional attire.
To-shirts, collard shirts.
Athletic or kaki shorts
Tennis shoes and socks during the camp day
You may need sweats or jeans for the evenings. It does tend to get chilly in the morning and late evenings.
Do we need to bring our own medical kits or fanny packs?
No, we have them on site for you. You may bring them if it is your preference.
What level of training do we need to work camp in the athletic training department?
You must either be a Certified Athletic Trainer or a Student Athletic Trainer who is enrolled in an accredited athletic training program.
You must also be CPR, First Aide, and Defibulater Certified.
You must have liability insurance through your professional institution or personally.
Is there a stipend paid for working Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camp?
Yes, It is based on Certified or Non-Certified Student. For more information, contact Terri in the medical office at 703-279-1554 or medical@coachwootten.com.
What is the schedule of a typical day?
AM Duty – 7:50 AM-9:00 AM (Athletic Trainers are rotated through this period each morning)
Session 1 – 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Athletic Trainers are scheduled at different locations on campus during this session)
Lunch Duty – 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM (Athletic Trainers are rotated through this period each day)
Session 2 – 2:00 PM-4:30 PM (Athletic Trainers are scheduled at different locations on campus during this session)
Dinner Duty – 4:30 PM -6:30 PM (Athletic Trainers are rotated through this period each day)
Session 3 – 6:30 PM -9:00 PM (Athletic Trainers are scheduled at different locations on campus during this session)
PM Duty – 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Athletic Trainers are rotated through this period each day)
Dorm Medical Station Duty - 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Athletic Trainers are rotated through this period each day)
Night Duty – 12:00 AM -8:00 AM (Athletic Trainers are rotated through this period night)
What type of medical responsibilities do athletic trainers have?
-Prevention of injury and illness
-Evaluation and Treatment injury and illness
-Refer and possible transportation to local area hospital and medical center
-Distribution of camper’s medications
-Maintain safe playing environment
-Contact parents of campers who have acquired and injury or illness
