Our directors are at camp 24/7

One of the unique aspects of the camp is that Morgan and Joe Wootten live in the dorms with the campers. They are at the camp all day, everyday. Unlike most of the big name camps, the directors are running the day to day operations of the camp. Your son or daughter will be taught 3 fundamentals a day from Coach Morgan and Joe Wootten the entire week.

Our supervision

We have a minimum of 4 staff members staying on each floor of the dorms. They are responsible for waking the kids up each morning and getting them out the door to breakfast. They also do two checks every night; one in your room check at 10:00pm and a second lights out check at 10:30pm. Once they have completed their checklists, they turn them in to Coach Wootten. Staff members don't go to bed until all lists are in! During the day, coaches are responsible for the ten members of their team. A commissioner, with at least 12 years of experience at our camp, is with a group of 10 coaches and 100 campers at all times to ensure that the coaches can do just that:  Coach!

Our camp length

Each week at Coach Woottens camp last 5 days and 4 nights. We "do" basketball from 9:00am-9:00pm each day (and your camper can partake in the optional 6am activities if he/she wants to make their day even longer!).

Our fundamental time

We spend more time on fundamentals than we do playing games. Don't get us wrong . . . we love to play games; we play three games per day . . . but we offer 5 fundamentals every day of camp! We emphasize teaching the game and not just playing it.

Our age

We are the oldest basketball camp in the nation. We have been teaching the game of basketball since 1961!
